Camera makers continue to roll out new cameras at the PMA 2006 International Convention and Trade Show which started this week in Orlando, Florida. Kodak, the number one seller of digital cameras in North America, announced the introduction of four new Easyshare cameras which should reach Canadian retail shelves this spring. The EasyShare cameras include the entry level C643 and C533, the more stylish V603 and the more advanced Z612.
All four cameras come with EasyShare software and can connect to optional Easyshare Printer Plus Series 3 docks in order to print 4 x 6-inch pictures. The printer docks can also be used to transfer pictures to a connected computer and to recharge the cameras' batteries.
Kodak Easyshare C643 and C533The Kodak C-Series of pocket cameras are for entry-level picture takers wanting a good quality, easy to use point and shoot digital camera. Last month , Kodak announced the Easyshare C663 camera which will be available in April for $379 and the C530 digital cameras which should be available now for $189 and this month its the C643 and C533. The new Kodak Easyshare C643 digital camera is an all-purpose solution for users who seek compact design and good value - 6.1-megapixel resolution, 3x optical zoom lens and 5x digital zoom, large 2.4'' LCD colour display, 30 fps TV-quality video (VGA) with audio capture, and many on-camera picture-enhancing features.
An ideal entry-point camera to the popular Kodak Easyshare system, the new 5.0-megapixel C533 boasts a 3X optical zoom lens and 5X digital zoom, 1.8'' indoor/outdoor colour display and on-camera cropping.
The cameras operate with common AA alkaline batteries, or, for longer life, with optional Kodak oxy-alkaline, Ni-MH rechargeable, and high power lithium digital camera batteries. In addition, useful features such as undo-delete (to restore an image just deleted) and internal memory plus (to easily switch from a full memory card to internal camera memory) are included on both cameras.
The Kodak Easyshare C643 camera will be available in Canada beginning in April 2006 for $279.95 while the the C533 camera will arrive in May for $229.95.
Easyshare V603 The Kodak V-Series of pocket cameras are a step up from the C-series and are designed for people who want a more compact and stylish digital camera.
The tiny, 6.1-megapixel V603 camera features a Schneider-Kreuznach 3X optical zoom lens, a 2.5" high-resolution display, in-camera picture enhancing features such as Kodak Perfect Touch technology and multiple colour and scene modes including panorama stitch.  Kodak Easyshare V603 Digital Camera
The Kodak Easyshare V603 zoom digital camera records TV-quality video, up to 30 frames per second (fps) using advanced MPEG-4 compression with the ability to split video with a simple on-camera editing feature.
Built-in image stabilization technology during video reduces on-screen shaking from unintentional hand and camera movement. The camera also offers zoom during video including auto focus. If you like a particular frame in your video then it can be saved and printed from the video.
The Kodak Easyshare V603 zoom digital camera comes in black or silver and includes Kodak Easyshare software version 5.2.
The camera will be available in Canada beginning in May 2006 and will retail for CDN$349.95 (MSRP).
Kodak Easyshare Z612 The Kodak Z-Series of digital cameras are more advanced digital cameras featuring more powerful zoom lens and more advanced features in order to allow for more creative control in picture taking.
The 6-megapixel Kodak Easyshare Z612 zoom digital camera boasts a 12X Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon optical zoom lens, a 2.5" display, 27MB of internal memory, Kodak image stabilization technology along with image editing and enhancement functions such as automatic red-eye reduction, cropping, auto picture rotation, and auto-image enhance.
